Meditative Therapy

The integration of meditative practices and psychotherapy.

In meditative therapy, we first use meditation and yogic breathing to quiet and focus the mind. Once the nervous system is regulated, we let the mind and body guide us to insight and calmness. It’s an approach know as ‘heart-centred’ therapy, where the patient is encouraged to talk before quietening the mind to find stillness.

Meditative therapy is most suitable for those who are looking for a more spiritual approach to inner development, self-enquiry, and awakening to inner purpose and fulfilment.

CBT & CBH

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is one of several “talking treatments”, but unlike some other such methods, it focuses on positively changing your view of the problems or difficulties that are affecting you now. Rather than focussing on the causes of your distress or symptoms from the past, CBT teaches you ways to improve your state of mind now and in the future.

CBT can help you to change how you think (the “Cognitive” part) and what you do (the “Behavioural” bit). When put into practice these changes can help you to reconsider how you think about yourself, the world and other people, and understand how what you do affects your thoughts and feelings.

Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy is a process where healthy and unhealthy beliefs are identified, disputed – and then in trance state, weakened or strengthened. The weakening and strengthening process continues through the application of relevant homework assignment.

CBH is a very effective, solution-focused integrative therapy that uses elements of CBT and REBT with hypnotherapy. CBH places attention and deals with client’s present issues, currently held beliefs, painful emotions, dysfunctional behaviours and helps to create a much better way of thinking ,acting and handling everyday challenges.

REBT works on the deeper root cause rather than looking at events. When integrated with CBT and hypnotherapy, it becomes a very powerful way to work with more serious emotional and psychological problems and disorders. This model is designed to work over far fewer sessions than CBT alone.
