What is Stress?
Stress is simply an autonomous response to a threat. The body shifts vast amounts of energy resources towards fighting the perceived threat, which is precisely why it often feels so exhausting and overwhelming when we experience it. If stress is not managed appropriately, then the consequences can lead to prolonged health problems.
Short-term effects include: headaches, gastrointestinal problems, aches and pains, trembling, sweating, insomnia, elevated blood pressure, a compromised immune system, panic attacks, anxiety, aggression, depression, poor concentration, feeling helpless, lack of confidence, and a withdrawal from social activities.
Long-term effects include: stomach ulcers (due to elevated cortisol levels), opportunistic infections (some authorities will include cancer), hypertension, heart attack (myocardial infarction), stroke (cerebrovascular incident), chronic depression, and an increased risk of psychological breakdown.
Take my Stress Questionnaire and count how many of effects you’re currently experiencing, or have experienced over the past month.

What is Anxiety?
Anxiety, in a nutshell, is fear. It’s a feeling of worry, nervousness or unease.
The feeling of anxiety is a reaction to stress. Anxiety is characterised by an unpleasant state of inner turmoil – and unlike stress, is persistent without the presence of the stressor. It can often be accompanied by pacing back and forth, or ruminating, worrying, and thinking about anticipated events.
Symptoms of anxiety may include: physical and mental withdrawal from people, events, and situations; drinking and overeating in an attempt to “tranquillise” feelings; seeking constant reassurance; creating more of an issue around an event or topic in ones mind (“making a mountain out of a molehill”); constant worrying; inability to cope; restlessness; and overeating.

How can working with me help you?
How can working
with me help you?
When you work with me, we will figure out the root cause(s) of your stress and/or anxiety, based on an initial assessment.
This initial two-hour consultation will help us to develop an effective course of action that is unique to you. I will teach you how to regulate your nervous system, take control of your anxiety, and apply practical tools – like “instant de-stressors”, breathing protocols, retraining old habits, and reconditioning new (and healthier) ones. Ultimately, I will be your guide to helping you find unique strengths and resources you already have, but perhaps don’t yet recognise.
